Sweater dresses are my favorite thing to throw on as soon as the weather begins to feel like fall. They’re super low maintenance yet stylish, easy to style in a number of ways, and they don’t break the bank! This fall, I’ve added a few new sweater dresses to my closet, many of which are budget friendly and super cozy.
This moss green sweater dress may be the best deal I’ve scored this season! I found it at my local Target, bought it in two sizes since the dressing rooms are still closed, and ended up keeping the smaller size because it’s very roomy. The material is soft, the color is beautiful, and I adore the bell sleeves! Better yet – this dress is under $30 and I’ve been wearing it on repeat.
My favorite way to style sweater dresses is to pair them with my go-to over-the-knee brown suede boots. I purchased these boots a few years ago, but they’re still available and a total staple in my fall wardrobe. They’re incredibly comfortable and I love the low heel height. When the temperatures get chillier, I layer on a leather jacket or sweater coat, like this or this, for an extra layer of warmth. I can’t tell you how many compliments I receive every time I sport one of these dresses – I only wish the season for wearing them without freezing was longer in New England!
Are you a fan of sweater dresses? Where have you bought some of your favorites?
The A-Lyst for Sweater Dresses
This sweater is equal parts cozy and stylish…my favorite combination! While the dress is oversized, it still has somewhat of a fitted appearance due to the banded hem. I also love the mock turtleneck, which adds warmth without being too bulky.
My love for Dudley Stephens runs deep, so you can imagine my enthusiasm for their newest launch: a maxi-length fleece sweater dress. I especially love the charcoal color paired with black booties and tights!
Mockneck Leopard Sweater Dress
If it’s leopard, I have to own it! This playful sweater dress is perfect for fall and could even take you into the holiday season and winter if you throw on a pair of tights. It’s a shift dress but it isn’t too boxy!
Puff Long Sleeve Sweatshirt Dress
Under $35 and SO comfortable! You literally feel like you are wearing your favorite sweatshirt. This does run a bit long, so I typically wear an ankle boot with it instead of my over-the-knee ones.
(Re)sourced Cashmere Midi Dress
This is such an effortless, easy to wear sweater dress. The cashmere definitely takes it up a notch in my book, but it can still be worn with your favorite sneakers and denim jacket to run errands. I secretly love the midi length because it keeps your legs warmer!
