It took me a while to come to the realization that I would be wearing a mask anytime I went out; yet, here we are, and like many, I figured that if I’ll be donning something on my face for the foreseeable future, it might as well look stylish.
I’m a big proponent of wearing masks during these unprecedented times, not only to protect myself but to protect others. Living in a densely inhabited city has required us to take additional precautions, even when we’re just taking out our dog, Walter, for a quick walk around the block. I’m basically wearing a mask every time I step outside, so I’ve invested in a number of cute masks to make sporting them a bit more pleasant. We keep a basket of masks by our door to ensure that we don’t forget to grab a fresh one anytime we leave the house.
If you’re looking to add new masks to your own collection, I’ve rounded a few of my fashion-forward favorites. I never thought I’d be writing about trendy face masks, so if this post isn’t a sign of the times, I don’t know what is. Stay safe, friends!
The A-Lyst for Stylish Face Masks
While these masks are definitely on the pricier side ($20 for one), the floral one I’m wearing in these photos was one of the first “fun” face masks I purchased and it continues to be a favorite. I love how I can pair it with so many complementary colors and really make an outfit pop! These masks are super soft and well-constructed.
BaubleBar’s White Eyelet and Blue Dot Masks
I’ve written before about my slight obsession with eyelet patterns, so when I saw this adorable mask duo from BaubleBar, I had to have them. The white eyelet mask is the perfect, neutral complement to my summer dresses while the blue dot mask is great accessory for all of my blue wardrobe pieces! A key feature on these masks is the adjustable elastic around the ear, which helps to keep the mask in place.
For all of my tie-dye fans, these Andy & Evan masks are super cute and affordable. They come in a variety pack of four featuring a range of colors including soft lavenders to soothing blues. These masks also include an interior pocket where you can insert a filter for extra protection.
If you and the man in your life want to invest in a pack of masks together, this is the perfect solution. The Tie Bar has designed face masks made from their quality shirt fabric. While they’re not advertised as being unisex, they come in a number of female-friendly classic patterns and I really like them. These masks feature an interior metal wire over the bridge of your nose to ensure a snug fit and come in a pack of five for easy sharing.
Nordstrom Tie-Back Pleated Masks
I’ll be honest, tie-back masks aren’t my favorite as it can be tricky to keep them tight and secure around your head, but if you prefer that style, these solid colored pleated masks from Nordstrom are a great option! They come in a pack of four pretty hues and feature an adjustable ear loop. Once the temperatures begin to change, I’ll be transitioning into darker colored masks, so I love that this variety pack includes the black mask alongside the summer colors.
I’m obsessed with the playful color palette highlighted on Tanya Taylor’s set of three masks. These patterns are so fun and lively! I’m a big fan of this designer’s summer dresses, so it’s no surprise that she knocked it out of the park with options for facial coverings during this time. While this pack of three will run you $35.00, which is a bit on the steeper side, they’re definitely one of the most uniquely patterned options out there.
As a leopard print lover, I had to incorporate at least one of these patterned masks into my growing collection. The leopard print mask looks great against white and black clothes as well as bold solid colors (think bright red and royal blue). Leopard is a print that can be worn year-round and I’ll definitely be opting for this mask once summer bids us farewell.
