In the age of Instagram, diners are not only looking for delicious fare from a restaurant dining experience, but also beautiful atmosphere, and in Boston, we have many restaurants that flawlessly deliver both.
While beauty can be defined in many different ways, for this round-up of local spots, I wanted to focus on restaurants that transport me to a tropical locale with their lush greenery and exquisite use of plants. When the weather outside is cold and dreary, it can be especially nice to dine inside a place that makes you feel like you’re eating and drinking al fresco!
Don’t have a plane ticket booked yet to escape the frigid temperatures? Book a seat at one of these spots instead and it will at least make your winter weekend a bit more bearable!
The A-Lyst for Beautiful Restaurants in Boston with Greenery
Located on the top floor of Eataly Boston, Terra is described as an Italian grill that’s inspired by both earth and fire. Serving up fresh pasta dishes, bruschetta, skewers, and more, this is a great spot to enjoy mid-shopping trip while at the Prudential Center. In the winter, I love coming to Terra during the daytime in order to take advantage of its bright dining room and beautiful greenery. Between the gorgeous sunlight, fresh herbs, hanging plants and more, Terra’s dining room makes me feel like I am eating in a super chic greenhouse (…minus humidity and occasional mist!). 800 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02199
NAHITA boasts globally inspired cuisine in most expansive and beautifully decorated dining room. Offering a diverse selection of raw items, including ceviche and sashimi alongside unique “for the table” selections and entrees, the best part about dining at NAHITA is its gorgeous – and abundant – assortment of plants. It’s as if you’re dining on a jungle-like terrace, when in reality, you’re just in quaint Boston! 100 Arlington Street, Boston, MA 02116
Pammy’s is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston (…ok, it’s technically in Cambridge, but it’s SO good that I travel across the bridge for it!). The moment you step into this chef-owned neighborhood eatery, you will be in awe of its gorgeous decor. A roaring fireplace, gorgeous lighting fixtures, stunning mirrors, and beautiful plants abound! Don’t miss ordering the Lumache a spicy take on a bolognese sauce or the Veal Bruschetta as a starter. It’s a perfect date night spot for a romantic evening out. 928 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139
While the ReelHouse’s prime location on the waterfront in East Boston is one reason to love this spot, another is for its beautiful interior, complete with trees! With gorgeous floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline and Boston Harbor, I absolutely adore the restaurant’s use of trees, which are decorated with white lights for extra ambiance. Enjoy seafood favorites, including one of their shellfish platters, while enjoying incredible vistas everywhere you look! 6 New St, Boston, MA 02128
Publico Street Bistro + Garden
As its name suggests, this South Boston bistro is home to a beautiful open-air courtyard garden. Sure, Boston is cold in the winter, but not to worry, because Publico has several fire pits ready to warm you up as well as a cozy lounge area that’s currently decked out to resemble a ski lodge! Not to mention, in the center of the hidden garden, there’s a stately pergola adorned with greenery to make the scene even more dreamy. 11 Dorchester St, Boston, MA 02127
