Visiting Vermont during the fall is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the beautiful foliage. Woodstock and Stowe are the two towns that we’ve visited the most and each is equally as charming. If you are traveling from Boston, most places in Vermont can be reached in under four hours, so they make for a perfect weekend getaway! You can read more about my suggestions for how to spend a weekend in Stowe, Vermont here and how to spend a weekend in Woodstock here.
This past weekend, we traveled to Stowe to embrace the gorgeous fall colors and crisp October weather. From our home base at Field Guide, Lark Hotel’s Vermont property, we were able to easily explore Stowe by foot as well as take scenic drives through the surrounding areas of Waterbury and Cambridge. Field Guide is centrally located in the heart of Stowe’s main shopping and restaurant district, and it boasts the most unique decor; think modern chic meets cozy log cabin. With cheerful, bright pops of orange throughout the lobby, roaring fireplaces, and lots of plush furniture to kick back and lounge on, Field Guide is the perfect place to stay when visiting Stowe, year-round.
During our weekend in Stowe, we fully embraced the beautiful fall weather, and made it our personal mission to find the most brilliantly colored trees and picturesque landscapes around. If you’re heading to the Stowe area for a leaf-peeping adventure, I’d suggest going soon, as the trees are already beginning to lose their leaves.
Here are a few of my favorite snapshots from our trip to help you fall even more in love with fall in New England!
