I absolutely adore donning a bright and colorful coral lipstick all year round! From corals featuring hints of red (like the YSL favorite I am wearing here) to those with a more orangey hue, over the years, I’ve experimented with every shade of coral and created a list of tried and true favorites. It’s ever evolving…and always expanding!
While coral lipsticks look a little bit differently on everyone – primarily based on your skin tone and hair color – I’d recommend sampling a few on your hand before making a purchase, just to better ensure it’s a perfect fit! If you’re new to the world of coral lipsticks, I’m here to save you from aimlessly wandering the aisles at Sephora and provide a jumping off point for your coral beauty quest!
The A-Lyst for Must-Have Coral Lipsticks
My friend Sarah purchased this beautiful lipstick for me as a birthday gift because she knows how much I love lipstick. While I first fell in love with the personalized case (I mean, how can you not love a monogrammed lipstick!?), the color has quickly become one of my go-to’s! While this shade of coral definitely leans towards being part of the ‘red’ family, it’s not as dramatic as a cherry red lipstick, and therefore, much easier to wear on an everyday basis.
M.A.C always knows how to deliver a great coral lipstick, and Vegas Volt is one of my favorites for days and nights when I am opting for a less dramatic look. This soft coral-orange is more subtle and very easy to pair with summer clothing – I love wearing it when I am sporting an all white ensemble!
CHANEL Rouge Allure in Melodieuse
I find myself gravitating towards this pink-ish coral lipstick on a daily basis. It’s a beautiful, approachable coral that adds life to any make-up look and is versatile enough to be worn with most outfit colors. Since I wear so many blue in the summer, this is the perfect pop of color on my lips — I feel like my make-up is finished when I wear, but it’s not over the top!
This bright, pink-coral matte hue will stay on your lips for hours and better yet, won’t dry them out! In my opinion, this hue is in the same color family as my favorite Chanel shade, yet tends to come across a bit bolder because it lacks any shine. It’s ideal for days when you want to make a statement! I actually first learned about this shade through Birchbox and have since been buying and re-buying it because I love it that much!
If you favor warmer coral tones, this should be your top pick! The creamy texture of this lipstick combined with its gorgeous orange yet slightly red hue make it a favorite for when I want to wear a striking shade of lipstick that’s not classic red. Traditionally, Marc Jacobs’ lipsticks are long-lasting and offer brilliant take on classic colors and this coral is no different.
